Our mission is to improve the lives and health of the community which we serve, that starts by offering our students a varied curriculum in martial arts and fitness. At the core of any martial art, the goal is the development of the individual. The training is merely a means to attain that goal.

Experience

What about MAUSA Health & Fitness Center makes us the premiere school for self-defense, self-cultivation and fitness in Brooklyn? Aside from martial arts, our instructors have decades of training in various fields, from law enforcement to Chinese medicine – we offer our students an array of life experience to help them become successful on and off the mat.

Classes

We offer a variety of classes in martial arts and fitness. Whether you're a beginner or advanced practitioner, you will find a program that improves your skill set and well-being.

Childrens ju jitsu

Our children’s classes are a unique integration of Karate and Ju-Jitsu. Training fosters an important initial sense of confidence, self-control, discipline and physical fitness. Whether from bowing or standing still and waiting for the next command, benefits can often carries over into school, helping to improve behavior and even grades.

Adult ju jitsu

Urban Contemporary Ju Jitsu (UCJ) is comprised of several other arts: Sanuces Ryu, Kumite Ryu, Vee Jitsu Ryu, boxing and aikido. Classes focuss on self-defense, with practical applications of both striking and throwing techniques.

Aikido

Aikido involves throws and joint locks that are derived from Jujitsu. It focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement.

Kickboxing

Cardio Kickboxing is a total body workout that combines, boxing and martial arts. The 1 hour class incorporates jumping rope, calisthenics and focus pad training.

Muay Thai

After a calisthenics warm up, you learn the fundamentals of punching and kicking with drills, pad work and light sparring. The class also incorporates the basics of no-gi grappling.
